A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE OF MINE

It was February 11,2010 when we had our observation of the General Demonstration of PNU interns in Hondagua Elementary School in Hondagua,Quezon.When I enterd in the school.I was amazed because the learning environment there was different.I saw the cleanliness of the sorrowndings.I also visited the classrooms,it was full of different learning tools related to science,like the solar system that was painted on the ceiling accompanied with color blue;the mural of ecosystem and water cycle painted on the wall.When I look around,I saw the structures of male and female reproductive organs and so much more about the subject.After explaining the science resoures water I went to the classroom that was assinged to us for observation.

The interns that I observed wasMs.Jackielou Manalo.She was very relaxed that time,no signs of nervousness on her face.She started her demonstration with prayer.Her subjectmatter was about Peso and centavo in Mathematics.She motevated her pupil very well,all the pupils were very active in discussion as well as in different activities,individual or group.it was very attractive and colorful.She used play money,coins,pictures and box.She also made a small sari-sari store that she used in one of her activities.However as she go on in her discussion the pupils are also making thier noise.Eventhough shr got irratated, you cannot see it to her face.She always smile.But the pupils didn't stop being noisy and others are walking,so she uttered... "Pag hindi kayo tumigil,dudukutin ko mga mata nyo" so her pupil keep silence. I was surprised for what she was saying,but I dont blamed behaved,the puils were hyperactive. So..... to make it short the lesson was ended.Prof. Avila was the one who observed comment to Jackie's demonstration told to her that next time do not used bad words or some negative language to discipline the pupils.But it is natural,she did her best and she got 93% for her performance.I could say that she did very well in her demonstration teaching.And it was good also that I and other FS students experienced to observed the final demonstration by the interns because we acquired ideas that we can use the time comes that we in our internship and conduct our demonstration teaching.

THE DANCING TEACHER

February 2 2010, tuesday. I made my observation again in my assigned school. i got there at 9:15 am, it was about to start their second subject in the morning and the subject is MSEP. when i entered the room they greet me "good morning mam" I was very flattered because that is the first time they greeted me and they called me Maam.

The teacher started the lesson, her topic was about polka dance. She got the book on the shelf and started reading it. She gave some important information about the topic and its origin. after giving some inputs, she asked her pupils to stand to execute the different step in polka. All the pupils was laughing because they said that they will see there teacher how to dance. they began to follow the first step and so on. while the pupils imitating the dance executed by there teacher, they were laughing. "ang galing naman ni mam" they uttered. I was standing at the back observing and watching what they are doing i was very happy and glad that day because even though the teacher doesnt know how to dance she gave all her effort to teach her pupils and let them experience that kind of activity.

When I finished my observation i thought that the teacher was the best person in the world. No one in this world that has a long patience to teach a child, only the TEACHER. Because all the things and knowledge taught to us by our teacher, came from their heart and from their experiences.

IM JUST A CHILD

January 26,2010 Tuesday

I went to my assigned school this day and I am lucky that when I arrived there it is about to start the class. I am thinking that I will see how the teacher manage the opening of the class or apply what in her lesson plan. But I feel disappointed because after the pupil entering the room they just sit automatically without having their prayer as well as to say GOOD MORNING MAM! you know what I mean the typical or usually done before the class start.
When the discussion is going on there is one child catches my attention.His
name is Arnold.He did not listen to her teacher all he can do is to walk around the classroom and quarreled his classmate after that he transferred another and do that again.But I noticed her teacher did not pay attention to him she just continue reading the books that she discussed.
The lesson was ended and I never heard the teacher get mad to that student. I realized that day what the child learned..... if he just walking in 70 minutes of discussion and
his teacher let him do that way.
THAT'S WHY THE EDUCATION HERE IN THE PHILLIPINES IS VERY LOW!!

IM BEGGING YOU

January 28,2010

I made my observation at DON MATEO ELEM.SCHOOL at 9:00 in the morning, after my class in English.When I got there my coordinating teacher is teaching Math subject in gra- de 5 pupil,and the topic is about decimal point in division.I noticed that some of her students did not pay attention for what she is talking about in front and only few are listening.But the teacher is continuing her lesson.After she finished her discussion she gave a quiz eventhough she is not sure if her pupil understand the lesson. I think that she would like to finish her lesson although her pupil doesn't know very well the topic. I was disappointed because I did not saw some effort to teach. I was so very much pity to all her pupil.
